Overall Experience (reflects the collaboration of both critics): If you are in the mood for an adventure, this is it. Messob! It is truly the taste of Ethiopia. This was our first time dining in an Ethiopian restaurant and it definitely was an experience. I (Jack) had the clay pot lamb tibs. They were excellent. The chopped lamb came out sizzling in a clay pot fired by burning hot coals. One major positive about this dish is that you don’t have to worry about your food getting cold even if you’re the slowest eater on earth. The lamb was tender and above all tasty. I (Jill) had the ye awaze tibs. Excellent! I almost ate myself into a coma! The beef was tender and spicy and unlike any other beef dish I’ve ever eaten. Their blend of spices upped the ante and left me wanting more. Diners will find that this restaurant has an authentic feel in the presentation of its food. The clay pot was unique but the meal also came with long pieces of Ethiopian bread; bread like we’ve never seen before. It was flat with a million air pocket holes in it. This bread is used to scoop up anything on your plate. One may choose to eat with silverware or replace it with their bread; we chose the bread. There we sat eating hands deep in some of the most delicious food we’ve ever tasted. During our meal, the owner/chef (Solomon) came out to ask if we were enjoying the meal. All we could do was sing his praises. This restaurant is small, but it is big on flavor.
